Welsh language broadcaster S4C has appointed Cardiff-based advertising agency S3 Advertising to promote its programming to audiences across Wales and beyond.
S4C — which commissions and broadcasts the internationally acclaimed Y Gwyll /Hinterland and popular serial drama Pobol y Cwm – was seeking to appoint a partner to advise, plan, book and review media campaigns promoting S4C programmes and services. S4C invited agencies to tender for the threeyear- contract. The news completes a string of new business wins for the fast-growing agency, which was last year named ‘Advertising Agency of the Year’ by industry bible The Drum. Clients including MotoNovo Finance, Innovation Point, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Brace’s Bread have all been welcomed to the agency’s roster over the last six months.
Agency turnover has increased to almost £5m in the last financial year. Staff numbers have also increased, with the city centre agency taking on six new specialists across design,
social media, creative and digital since the New Year. S3 CEO Matt Jones said: “We’d been waiting for the chance to work with what is one of Wales’ largest brands for the last four years so when the opportunity arose we couldn’t wait to pitch our services. We’re incredibly proud to be working with Wales’ foremost channel and are chomping at the bit to get started.”
Gwyn Williams, S4C’s Director of Communications, added: “We’re looking forward to working with S3 and to having them help us in bringing our award winning programmes to the attention of media viewers in Wales and beyond.
